Signing up for a trading account takes about three minutes. Committing to a first real deposit is a different matter. Some traders take weeks to get there. Some never do.
Deriv has observed this pattern in its own data long enough to address it. Starting 6 April, traders who create a new Deriv account and make their first wallet-to-MT5 transfer receive a 20% margin credit on that transfer, up to $100. The mechanics are straightforward. The thinking behind it is more considered.
“With this promotion, we're removing one of the biggest barriers for new traders, the hesitation around that first deposit," said Prakash Bhudia, Chief Growth Officer at Deriv. "A 20% margin boost from day one means new clients can start trading with more breathing room and greater flexibility from the moment they sign up."
The credit is added directly to the trader's MT5 account as a usable margin. A trader transferring $200 starts with $240 in trading power. At $500, the credit maxes out at $100. It applies to MT5 Standard and MT5 Financial accounts, the two account types that new Deriv traders use most.
The credit doesn't apply to subsequent transfers. It can't be withdrawn. It's not a cash bonus but an added margin. Deriv wants to give new traders a firmer footing for their planned trades.
The promotion runs until 30 April 2026 and is open exclusively to traders who create their Deriv account between 6 and 30 April.
For Deriv's affiliate and partner network, the credit also functions as a recruitment tool during the window. Partners can point prospective traders to the offer as a concrete reason to sign up now rather than later.
