Your Deriv MT5 gateway: Market watch, our personal trading Deriv MT5 dashboard

In this guide, we're going to take a closer look at Market Watch – your central hub for keeping tabs on the markets. Think of it like your personal trading dashboard, showing you all the essential information you need to make informed decisions.

Everything we're about to discuss is based on the full-featured Deriv MT5 desktop terminal. The web and mobile versions might have some slight differences, but the basic principles are the same.

Deriv MT5 market watch: Your one-stop shop

Market Watch is where you'll find real-time quotes (that's the current buying and selling prices) for all the instruments you can trade on Deriv MT5. That means forex, stocks, commodities and Deriv’s derived indices. It's like having a news ticker tailored specifically for your trading interests!

Let's explore the different tabs and key features within the Market Watch window!

The Deriv MT5 custom symbols tab: Your trading menu

This is the main tab you'll see when you open Market Watch. It's a list of all the instruments you can trade. Think of it like a menu at a restaurant, but instead of food, you're choosing financial markets! You can customise this list by adding or removing instruments based on your interests.

You can also view important details like the spread (the difference between buying and selling prices) by customizing the columns in this tab.

Details tab: The deep dive

This is where you can get a comprehensive view on a particular instrument. It's like looking at a detailed description of a menu item before you order. Details like the opening and closing of the instrument price, the highs and lows of the day, and much more.

Trading tab: Time to make your move

The Trading tab is your launchpad. Just enter the amount you want to trade and click buy or sell. It’s that simple! You can even see the potential profit or loss you might incur before you confirm your trade.

Ticks tab: The fast lane

This one's for the fast-paced traders. It shows you the rapid price changes (called "ticks") for your chosen instrument. It's like watching a live feed of the market's every move.

Symbol Specification: These provide detailed information like contract size, swap rates, trades times, and so on, of the particular instrument you would want to trade on.
